„4+1 übersetzen traduire tradurre translatar“, Vevey

The theme of “4+1 traduire übersetzen tradurre translatar” is literary translation between the four official Swiss languages and one other (+1). Since 2006, this event has been held at two-yearly intervals in different parts of the country and, in 2012, will take place in the town of Vevey.
In addition to the four national languages, the 2012 programme will feature English as guest language (+1).
The bodies responsible for this event are the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia, the Centre de Traduction Littéraire (CTL) of the University of Lausanne, Translation House Looren and the ch Foundation for federal co-operation.
Survey of translation editing in Switzerland
With Pro Helvetia and the CTL, a survey of translation editing at Swiss publishers across the country was carried out in summer 2011. The results reveal considerable differences between the German-speaking, French-speaking, and Italian-speaking parts of Switzerland.
Applications for Looren Translation Grants 2012 are now being taken
Applications are invited from professional literary translators translating the work of a Swiss author from one of one of the four Swiss national languages – German, French, Italian and Rhaeto-Romanic – into Portuguese.

ViceVersa: German-Polish Translator Workshop, Translation House Looren
