Collaboration with the Swiss Arts Council Pro Helvetia

In the framework of "Moving Words", the Swiss Arts council's focus on promoting translation, Pro Helvetia and Translation House Looren will be cooperating particularly closely in the period from 2009 to 2011. Our shared objective is to stimulate, facilitate and support translations of works of Swiss literature, from all of Switzerland's four national languages, in as many languages and nations as possible.

The following projects will be carried out by Translation House Looren with the generous support of Pro Helvetia:

 Pro Helvetia supports residencies at Translation House Looren for

- translators from all over the world who are translating a work by a Swiss author

- translators who are Swiss nationals or have been domiciled in Switzerland for at least two years

 Pro Helvetia supports the Looren Translation Grants for 2009, 2010 and 2011

- Pro Helvetia will fund four grants per year, each worth CHF 4000.
