You can stay with us for a maximum of two residencies per year.
Applications for stays for the whole year 2026 are possible at any time.

Applications for stays from January 2027 to end of June 2027 are possible from 31 August 2026.

Applications for the second half of 2027 are possible from 1 February 2027.

Using generative AI (eg. ChatGPT) to write your project description and letter of motivation is not allowed. We trust you to submit documents that were written by you.

Translators from countries bordering on Switzerland cannot apply for this grant unless they are working on contemporary Swiss literature.
Our funds are limited, so apply early to improve your chances of success. Applications for residence grants must be received at least two months before the start of your stay at Translation House Looren.

Please enclose a copy of the license agreement signed by both parties (the contract between the source text’s rights holder and the publisher of your translation) or a confirmation of the rights holder unless the work is out of copyright.
